As vice president of Enterprise’s multifamily mortgage financing division, Mr. Alfriend manages the Fannie Mae loan production and underwriting of a portfolio of affordable housing projects nationwide. He also markets Enterprise's lending products, which have helped to finance over $400 million in affordable housing loans across the country. Mr. Alfriend began his career at Enterprise in 1998 as a loan officer and was promoted to senior loan officer in 1999. He was appointed vice president in 2001.
Before joining Enterprise, Mr. Alfriend spent four years with the technical assistance division of the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, where he provided technical assistance, primarily to nonprofit developers, to the applications process for rental housing, tax credit, homeownership and special funds programs. Prior to that, he worked for eight years with St. Ambrose Housing Aid Center, a highly regarded nonprofit housing agency in Baltimore City. Serving as a development officer, he prepared financial applications and provided development oversight to tax credit rental, HUD 811 and homeownership development projects.
Mr. Alfriend received his masters of public policy from the University of Maryland.
