As director for Enterprise Community Investment, Inc. (Enterprise), Mr. Fairey
manages acquisitions activity in New York City. He originates and underwrites affordable housing
investments using the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit, manages the delivery of Enterprise’s lending products and works closely with development partners to provide technical assistance on and community development initiatives.
Mr. Fairey has extensive experience in community development and real estate finance, including
project management, organizational development and strategic planning. Prior to joining Enterprise
in 2005, Mr. Fairey served as chief operating officer of the Mount Hope Housing Company, Inc. Under
his leadership, Mount Hope rebuilt its development capacity by acquiring publicly and privately-owned sites, instituting a sustainable development paradigm, implementing creative financing
strategies (e.g., New Markets Tax Credits), and establishing joint venture partnerships. This resulted in a $60 million pipeline of projects. He also managed fundraising and communications efforts as well as economic development initiatives. Prior to that, Mr. Fairey was the assistant director of Community Pride, the community building program of the Harlem Children Zone. He focused on organizing community associations, facilitating a community planning process, coordinating open space projects and working with resident groups on limited equity cooperative conversions.
Mr. Fairey received a master of public administration with a concentration in public finance and financial
management from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service.
He also holds a bachelor of arts in history education from the University of Delaware. |
