As vice chairman and chief operating officer of Enterprise Community Investment, Inc. (Enterprise), Mr. Werhane brings more than 30 years of real estate, commercial banking, and tax credit industry experience to oversee the operations of Enterprise. He is responsible for managing Enterprise's tax credit syndication, multifamily mortgage finance and structured finance products.

Mr. Werhane joined Enterprise in 2001 and played a key role in Enterprise's involvement in commercial capital investments, targeting investments in commercial and mixed-use real estate development. Through the New Markets and Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit programs and other incentives, these investments focus on developments in underserved and emerging markets across the United States. Since the inception of the New Markets Tax Credits program in 2000, Enterprise has established itself as one of the largest allocatees in the nation, with a total allocation of $515 million. Partnering with some of the nation's leading corporations, Enterprise has provided financing to redevelopment efforts in markets like Columbus, Ohio; St. Louis; Baltimore; Madison, Wis.; Portland, Ore. and New York City.

Before joining Enterprise, Mr. Werhane was a management consultant to a major publicly traded lodging company, where he developed and implemented real estate capitalization strategies. He also consulted for a large national property and casualty company and was responsible for completing a portfolio disposition assignment.

Prior to that, Mr. Werhane spent nine years as the president and CEO of USF&G Realty Advisors, Inc. As president he directed investment activities, new product development and client relations.

Mr. Werhane received his BBA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and is a graduate of the Southwest Graduate School of Banking, Southern Methodist University.
