Enterprise and MetLife Foundation congratulate the winners of the 2011 MetLife Foundation Awards for Excellence in Affordable Housing, which laud best practices in green, service-enriched housing for low-income seniors.

Overview

In partnership with MetLife Foundation, Enterprise offers the MetLife Foundation Awards for Excellence in Affordable Housing. The awards program recognizes 501(c)(3) community-based or regional nonprofit organizations and Tribes or Tribally Designated Housing Entities that show exemplary leadership, innovation, effectiveness and quality operations and services delivery in green, affordable senior housing with services.

Winners receive:
  • $50,000 unrestricted grant
  • A commemorative plaque
  • A press release, issued locally and nationally, announcing your accomplishments
  • A profile of the winning project
  • An event for residents, partners and community members at the property
New this year: Enterprise will sponsor a local event for each winner!

The goals of the program are to:
  • Showcase models of excellence in the design, operations and property management of affordable senior housing
  • Increase the understanding of how to achieve success in providing innovative and high quality independent living for seniors
  • Provide an unrestricted financial award for agencies that exhibit excellence in senior housing
  • Disseminate model senior independent living programs
