2011 Affordable Housing Design Leadership Institute
The 2011 Affordable Housing Design Leadership Institute (AHDLI), hosted by the Harvard Graduate School of Design, brought together hundreds of locally and nationally-based designers, community developers, policymakers, government officials and the academic community.
The keynote lecture, “Identity, Density and Community in the Un-Model City," delivered by Michael Maltzan, made visible the importance of design in improving the quality of lives of residents and the urban fabric of cities.
During the following two-day work sessions, each of the sixteen participants discussed their successes and challenges in building healthy, viable homes, neighborhoods and cities.
