Our Priorities in Dallas

Our priorities represent our continued efforts to provide solutions to meet local affordable housing needs and align our work with the national priorities of Enterprise. We are seeking ways to bolster the resources of Enterprise by connecting solutions and capital to local challenges.

The Dallas-Fort Worth area is in the top 20 of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the nation. As the population continues to soar, the need for affordable housing increasingly surpasses the available supply. Our priorities are to:
  • Create new and preserve affordable housing opportunities for low- to moderate-income homebuyers in the Dallas-Fort Worth market

  • Significantly increase the production of green affordable housing

  • Develop sustainable community development organizations to preserve their work of increasing production of affordable housing

  • Evaluate market needs to advance Enterprise's national initiatives

  • Provide financing for the development of new affordable housing

Our Impact in Dallas

When Enterprise opened the Dallas office in 1988, we brought with us the vision of the legendary James Rouse. We set our stakes in Dallas and began forming partnerships with local community based organizations and others who shared our mission and commitment to give people living in poverty an opportunity to move up and out by providing access to affordable housing, jobs and other supportive services.

The Mortgage Assistance Program (MAP) has been our platform for launching a number of programs in Dallas. Through MAP, we’ve created opportunities for low and moderate income families to achieve homeownership. Since opening our doors 24 years ago, we’ve helped put keys to a new home in the hands of more than 8,200 families. Additionally, we’ve successfully:
  • Leveraged more than $517 million in private mortgage financing

  • Transferred more than $2.2 million in equity to first-time homeowners

  • Dispersed more than $600,000 in Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) funds

  • Trained more than 100 local nonprofit developers on Enterprise Green Communities Criteria

  • Partnered with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development on EHOP-Dallas to serve low and moderate income families by helping them achieve long-term homeownership.

Mapping Our Future

Mapping Our Future: Celebrating 20 Years of Partnership in Dallas brought together leaders from the Dallas MetroPlex community development field.

The successful event paid special tribute to longtime partner the city of Dallas and Capital One as the presenting sponsor.
