Saint Luke’s Foundation
The investment in Buckeye speaks to the foundation’s roots. Originally established in 1894 as the Cleveland General Hospital, what would become Saint Luke’s Medical Center served several communities, including Buckeye, for over a century. When the medical center was sold to a for-profit partnership, the charitable assets were used to establish the Saint Luke’s Foundation. As evidence that things really do come full circle, Enterprise is currently an investor in a three-phase, $53 million project to transform the historic former Saint Luke’s Medical Center building, located in Buckeye, into 139 units of affordable senior housing and 85,000 square feet of commercial space.
Saint Luke’s Foundation recently announced its efforts to “Rethink, Redesign and Reinvent” its grantmaking to respond to the changing needs and broader economic and demographic shifts in Cleveland and beyond. Enterprise applauds the efforts of Saint Luke’s Foundation to have an even greater impact in Cleveland and its surrounding communities.
