Our Priorities in the Southeast

  • Bringing to bear capital, solutions and policy resources for the production and preservation of multifamily affordable housing projects and promote future development of affordable and mixed-income housing around planned transit
     
  • Focusing on addressing capacity needs of local government and affordable housing developers to support community stabilization activities,  providing training and technical assistance to key partners in Atlanta and south Florida around assessing financial stability and implementing changes or partnerships to weather the economic downturn
     
  • Building and preserving green, healthy and sustainable housing through Enterprise Green Communities 

Our Impact in the Southeast

  • Invested $125 million in grants, loans and equity
     
  • Leveraged an additional $470 million to preserve or produce the 6,200 affordable units in the Atlanta metro region
     
  • With Green Home Advantage, a partnership between the City of Atlanta, Enterprise, Southface and The Home Depot Foundation, created new baseline green requirements for 300 units in NSP properties and developer resources, resulting in new tools; increased developer capacity and greener, healthier, affordable homes and communities

Key Engagements

Transit-Oriented Development

Enterprise is working with Atlanta BeltLine Inc. to complete an Atlanta BeltLine Mixed Income Transit Oriented Development Implementation Strategy (MITODIS). Affordable Housing Analysis, identifying resources, strategies and the creation of tools for the development of TOD affordable housing, utilizing the Atlanta BeltLine Affordable Housing Trust Fund.

Community Revitalization

Communities are being revitalized through single family rehab of foreclosed homes under the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP). Enterprise is providing capacity building support and NSP Technical Assistance to Metro Atlanta partners to return vacant homes and rebuild blighted neighborhoods into occupied and thriving affordable communities.

Capacity Building

Resources for Residents and Communities (RRC) is leading innovative green modular design of Legacy Point, a 13- single family affordable homes development one block from the planned Atlanta BeltLine. Through green design charrette planning, focusing on storm water management, sustainable building materials, operations and maintenance, resident engagement tools and project support, Enterprise is working with RRC to build its staff capacity, incorporating green building practices into affordable housing design and operations.
